What?! Is cleaning a toilet miraculous?

A Simple Grace recently interviewed me about the faith, love and prayer. They have used a couple of my responses in their new magazine. The piece is titled, “Author of ‘Bringing Lent Home with Pope Francis’ shares her secret for discovering everyday miracles.”I believe that the full interview is in the hard copy of the magazine.

You can see my response about love, prayer and cleaning a toilet here!

Enjoy!

  1. Hello !
God has lead me to your beautiful heart and soul . I was first drawn to you when I saw your book about the domestic church in adoration . My husband left me and my three children five years ago and I’ve since been gifted with an annulment and press on with the blessed mother as my advocate … I just recently heard that you were a single mom too and I was inspired . I thank you for sharing your story and your faith as I strive to keep my home pure in the faith as I teach my three little girls about Gods love and our beautiful catholic faith. I want to read your books .. Which one should I start with and also I’m seeking strong catholic friends to be with . Please can you pray for me and my girls as I strive to financially provide for them and I have an upcoming court date to get full legal custody so I can homeschool . I have been praying for this for two years now . My court date is Apr 28th and im praying for a miracle for our family your life’s journey relates so much to mind I’m encouraged and continue to have Hope in Jesus who guides me . Thank you so much for your prayers and I hope some day my girls and I can meet you some day!! God bless you !!

    • Dear Colleen Marie, Thank you for writing and sharing. I am sorry that your husband left you. I will definitely pray for you and your daughters. Hang in there and never stop praying. I am so glad that the Blessed Mother is your advocate. I wonder if you know that all this week I am a guest on EWTN’s Women of Grace sharing my testimony which I wrote about in my memoir “The Kiss of Jesus” in an effort to offer hope to others. I hope that you can tune in. Today (Tuesday) Women of Grace airs one hour earlier than usual due to coverage of Pope Francis. In yesterday’s show I revealed a couple of harrowing and painful experiences. I will be sharing intensely all week. feel free to subscribe to my free email newsletter by going to my website. May God bless you and keep you!

  2. Hello again, Colleen Marie. I just realized you asked about a book suggestion. Maybe a good one to start with would be “Rooted in Love: Our Calling As Catholic Women.” Let me know if I can help in any way. You can see my books on this website on the book page. I’m praying for you. God bless you!

    • Dear Elizabeth,

Thank you for getting in touch. I am very sorry that you have been hurt. I am sorry that “awful things” have happened to your whole family. I am glad that you really want to let go of the hurt. I know that it is hard especially if the people you mention are still treating you badly. Please pray for them and ask God to give you the grace you need to forgive them wholeheartedly. Yes, you are right in that you should offer all of the pain to God. He will definitely help you.

Keep praying and trusting Him. When you are able to forgive the people, you will see that you will have peace in your heart. You can teach your children to forgive too. Forgiveness is not condoning any bad action that was done. It is being Christ-like and offering Christ’s love despite the pain. That’s what God wants us to do. It’s hard but not impossible. God WILL give you strength and grace if you desire what He wants. Remember that Jesus when hanging from the Cross said, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” I will pray for you.

      God bless! Donna-Marie

  3. Donna-Marie,
I just finished watching you on Women of Grace and felt a strong urge that I should contact you. I have had a lot of pain in my life, especially in the past few years. I have great anger and resentment towards the church. Both of my children attended Catholic school a few years ago and several awful things happened to them and to our whole family. I really want to let go of the hurt, but it has been so hard. We attend a different parish now, which has been helpful, but when I run into anyone from the old parish it upsets me greatly. Our family has been hurt, but yet people treat us like we are the ones that did something wrong. I just don’t get it. I feel that all I can do is to offer the pain to God. I would really appreciate any suggestions that you could give me.
