It’s Spring! I hope that you lovely ladies will get a chance to journal in this unique “Spring Gratitude and Praise Journal”! You might find it to be a lovely and meaningful journey of discovery and even restoration. Here is a book description:
Acclaimed author Donna-Marie Cooper O’Boyle provides a Spring prayer journal for Catholic women — with spaces to record their thoughts, sentiments, prayers, and resolutions. Donna-Marie has woven together teachings from Holy Mother Church, wisdom from the Saints, recommendations and encouragement, as well as personal anecdotes for Catholic women who are serious about their spiritual lives.
This large volume will be a unique and inviting resource to take them through the season of spring; while the reader traverses through the penitential season of Lent, spanning 40 days (excluding Sundays), which is a time for prayer, reflection, reparation, sacrifice, and penance while preparing for Easter.
The season of Lent leads us to the holiest of days — the Sacred Paschal Triduum — the final most Sacred week of Lent — Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. During this time, we focus on Jesus’ loving Passion and His ultimate sacrifice of His own life for our salvation. They will celebrate the glorious Easter Sunday, and embrace it after a seemingly long penitential season, and they will commemorate Christ’s Resurrection.Next, is the Easter Season (Eastertide). This is a joyful 50-day period spanning from Easter Sunday until Pentecost Sunday.
The Sunday immediately after Easter Sunday is Divine Mercy Sunday, the feast that Our Lord Jesus Christ instituted and was carried out by His Secretary of Mercy, St. Maria Faustina Kowalska and St. John Paul II who got it established and made sure to get the Divine Mercy Sunday feast onto the Church’s Liturgical calendar.During the spring months, the reader will also celebrate Pentecost Sunday, marking the coming of the Holy Spirit to the Apostles and Mary who were gathered prayerfully together, waiting in the Upper Room. Pentecost, which usually falls in late May or early June concludes the Easter Season.
In addition, during the season of spring we remember our beautiful Mother Mary — the Blessed Virgin Mary in a special way throughout the month of May, when the reader might be involved with a “May Crowning,” when a statue or image of Mary is crowned. The feast of Our Lady of Fatima is celebrated on May 13, and is the first apparition of Mary to the three shepherd children at Fatima, Portugal: St. Francisco, St. Jacinto, and Sister Lucia. It’s possible that the reader might know someone who will be baptized into the Catholic Church at Easter time, or someone who will be making their First Holy Communion during the spring. The reader might attend a spring wedding! Hopefully, they can renew their baptismal promises during the Easter season. A special prayer is provided.
There’s an awful lot that happens in the spring months! This exclusive and inspiring Spring volume can be used during any year.
